About

Step Up Half Marathon, Relay & 5k takes place on August 28, 2027, in Storm Lake, Buena Vista County, Iowa. The half marathon (13.1 mi) starts at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K (3.1 mi) at 8:00 a.m., on a certified course following the lakeshore, with a relay option.

Certification and a flat lakeside course are the two ingredients of a reliable half-marathon time, which makes this a sensible target race rather than a day out. Use the relay if you are bringing someone new to racing: two legs of roughly 10K each is a distance most people can prepare for in a couple of months.
