About

The Moorehead Park Trail Mazathon in Ida Grove offers a full trail marathon (26.2 miles / 42.2 km), along with 2/3 Mazathon (17.6 miles / 28.3 km) and 1/3 Mazathon (8.8 miles / 14.2 km) options, all starting at 8 a.m. on July 31, 2027. The well-marked route crosses the rolling hills of Moorehead Park on dirt singletrack and mowed prairie paths.

The course follows old stagecoach roads and passes several historic sites: an early farmstead, a pioneer cemetery, antique farm equipment, a train depot and a one-room schoolhouse. Every finisher receives a medal, whatever the distance. Proceeds support the Ida County Conservation Foundation.
