New Forest Hinton Admiral Trail Run

The New Forest Hinton Admiral Trail Run takes place on 6 March 2027 at Burton, in the south of England, with trail races over 10 km, 15 km and a half marathon distance of 21.1 km. Each distance is offered twice, as a standard trail run and as a canicross: the 21.1 km starts at 9am, the 15 km at 9.15am and the 10 km at 9.30am. No elevation figure has been published for the courses.

The dual format is what sets this event apart. Running harnessed to your dog calls for specific kit, a waist belt and a bungee line, and some practice as a team before race day. In the standard version, the 10 km makes a good first off-road outing for a road runner, the 15 km works well as a tempo session on soft ground, and the 21.1 km is an approachable half whose time cannot be compared with one on tarmac. Shoes with moderate lugs are a sensible choice, along with a spare pair for the finish.
