Mitchell's Run Thru Rockford offers a 5K (3.1 miles) and a kids' fun run, the Kids K, in downtown Rockford on August 21, 2027. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. and the Kids K at 9:30 a.m.

The event benefits Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), in honor of Mitchell Peterson and others affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Participants receive race T-shirts, bibs and finisher medals. The event aims to foster community involvement while supporting a charitable cause, and virtual participation is available.
