About

The Hurt the Dirt trail races take place in Rockford, Michigan, in late April, on what the organizers call one of Michigan's best trail systems, with fast and exciting singletrack. Runners can choose a marathon (26.2 miles) starting at 7:00 AM, a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 9:00 AM or a quarter marathon (6.5 miles). Afterward, participants are served a free roast pig along with fresh fruit and vegetables, and a T-shirt is available for purchase. A kids' one-mile run is also offered, and every young participant receives a medal. Spring runs in West Michigan can be wet underfoot, so pack shoes with traction.
