About

The Abominable Snow Tri is a winter triathlon at Cannonsburg Ski Area in Belmont on February 21, 2027, combining running, fat biking and cross-country skiing. Participants can choose between the triathlon (8:00 a.m. start), the duathlon (bike/run, 8:10 a.m.), a single discipline such as the 5K run only (8:25 a.m.) or the 6.2-mile (10 km) fat bike only (8:30 a.m.), or the relay.

The course is challenging, with few aid stations, putting the emphasis on self-sufficiency. Age-group awards are given in the triathlon. If there is no snow, the ski leg is replaced by an additional run. A post-race party with food, drinks and an awards ceremony is planned.
