About

The White Pine Thaw Marathon Relay takes place in Comstock Park, Michigan, in the second half of March, on the southern section of the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail. A relay marathon and a solo full marathon (both 26.2 miles) start at 9:00 a.m.

Teams of runners each cover a portion of the relay. The course is easy to reach, with parking and restrooms about every 3.7 miles. The Friends of The White Pine Trail maintain the route, which sees little traffic and makes for a pleasant experience. March in west Michigan may bring ice, mud or snow on the trail, so shoes with traction and layers you can add or remove are a good idea.
