About
Iron Will 100 takes place in Junction City, Kansas, on September 19, 2026. The event offers four trail formats on the same day: a 100-mile, a 50-mile, a 50K (31 miles), and a 36-hour timed event. Everything is run on trails, and the shared start date means solo runners at every ultra distance will be on the course at once, from those aiming to finish a first 50K to those settling in for more than a day of running.
The 36-hour and 100-mile formats belong to runners who have already completed a 50-mile or 100K and know how to pace, eat, and stay warm overnight. The 50K is the most accessible option and works well as a first ultra; the 50-mile is a natural step up. For any of these, a 16- to 20-week block with back-to-back long runs, regular time on your feet at walking pace, and a tested nutrition routine matters more than speed work. Bring a crew or drop bags if you plan to be out past sunset.
