The Eisenhower Marathon takes place in Abilene, Kansas, the hometown of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, in mid-April. The lineup includes the marathon (26.2 miles), a marathon relay, a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a 5K (3.1 miles). The fast, flat course follows part of the historic Chisholm Trail, recalling the cattle-drive era with open spaces and rural charm.
