About

The Big Day Out Trailfest, based around South Brent on Dartmoor, offers two trail races on 31 July 2027 through one of the most spectacular landscapes in the UK. The Crossing, starting at 9am, is a 53.9 km ultra from Belstone to Ivybridge: a waymarked linear route across remote moorland, historic villages and wild valleys, with more than 1,100 metres of climbing and a 10-hour time limit.

The Great Escape, starting at 11.30am, covers the final 25 km from Princetown, following the Abbots Way across open moorland to Ivybridge. Both races offer well-stocked checkpoints, dedicated marshals and personalised medals, with post-race celebrations at Ivybridge Rugby Club.
