About

The Sugarloaf Marathon takes place in Eustis, Maine, at the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain, the second-highest peak in the state, in early May. Two road courses are offered: the full marathon (26.2 miles) and a shorter road race of 9.32 miles.

This is a mountain-town race, and early May in western Maine can still feel like late winter, with cold mornings and wind. Dress in layers you can remove, and be ready for rolling terrain rather than a flat course, with a pacing plan that holds something back for the later miles.
