Run Wild 5K at the North Carolina Zoo

The Run Wild 5K at the North Carolina Zoo takes place in Asheboro on June 12, 2027, with a 7:30 a.m. start, and all registration fees go toward conservation of the American red wolf, an endangered species. The 5K (3.1-mile) course follows paved paths through the zoo, giving participants a chance to take in the natural surroundings and the sounds of the wildlife.

The start and finish lines are near Solar Pointe, where refreshments and festivities await. Zoo tickets and an event T-shirt are included with registration. Spectators can cheer from outside the course, as the zoo opens to the public after the event. Registration is capped at 600 participants.
