Plainfield Salute the Troops 5k, Fun Run, & Soldier Stroll is held in Wauregan, Connecticut, on November 7, 2026. A color fun run of about 1.3 miles opens the morning at 9:30 a.m., and the 5K (3.1 miles) follows at 10:15. Organized by Plainfield Recreation to honor and support service members and veterans, it sends proceeds to local veterans organizations including the VFW, the American Legion and the Veteran's Coffeehouse. The races start and finish at Plainfield High School and pass local sports fields and the surrounding area.
