About

The Pirate 5K, 10K & Half Marathon is held in Cedars, in Howard County, Maryland, with three road distances: a 5K, a 10K, and a half marathon (13.1 miles). True to its name, the event leans into a pirate theme, with costumes — bandanas included — welcome at the starting line. The course follows pleasant roads through the county's landscapes, suited equally to runners chasing a personal record and those out for a fun, low-key run. The surrounding area offers plenty of sightseeing options for runners looking to extend their visit into a full weekend trip.
