About

The Neuse River Bridge Run takes place in New Bern, North Carolina, in early May. Three road formats are available: a 5K (3.1 miles), a 10K (6.2 miles) and a half marathon (13.1 miles). New Bern sits on the coastal plain, where spring mornings are warm and humid, so an easy first mile and regular fluids are sensible. After the race, there is plenty to see nearby: Tryon Palace, a historic residence, Croatan National Forest for hiking, Atlantic Beach about an hour away, and the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola. The wide range of distances makes it easy to bring friends or family who prefer a shorter race.
