富士山マラソン

富士山マラソン, the Mt. Fuji Marathon, takes place in Fujikawaguchiko, Japan, on 12 and 13 December 2026. On 12 December there are two short races, an 8 km and a 4 km, with start times yet to be confirmed. 13 December is devoted to the main events: the 42.2 km marathon at 9am, a 10.5 km Charity Fun Run at 9.20am and a 17 km at 10.30am. No elevation data has been published.

The lack of elevation data is the main unknown here: a marathon at the foot of Mount Fuji is run at moderate altitude and over terrain that bears no comparison with a city course. It is therefore wise to plan a conservative pace rather than carry over a time set on a flat road. The 17 km, an unusual distance, is a good option for discovering the area on foot without committing to a full marathon build-up.
