The Mountain Heritage Day 5K Walk/Race is a family-friendly, chip-timed event held at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, on September 25, 2027, starting at 8:30 a.m. The course follows paved and gravel paths past the campus's landmark sites.

The race includes several age groups, and participants can then head to the Mountain Heritage Day festival, featuring bluegrass music, food and crafts. Proceeds go to the Sport Management Association scholarship fund.
