About
The Assault on BlackRock is a tough 7-mile (11.3 km) trail race in Sylva on March 21, 2027, starting at 9:00 a.m. Runners climb BlackRock on rocky, muddy paths and steep trails through the Plott Balsam Mountains.
The course features significant elevation gain, including a steep final climb to the summit ridge. Awards go to the top overall and masters finishers, and a special belt buckle is given to those who complete the BlackRock 101 Challenge. Proceeds support the Sylva Art & Design Committee's efforts to brighten downtown Sylva with outdoor murals.
