Meadowlark Marathon

Meadowlark Marathon is held in Lindsborg, Kansas, on April 10, 2027, with staggered starts through the morning: the marathon (26.2 miles) at 8 a.m., the half marathon (13.1 miles) at 8:30 and the 5K at 9 a.m.

Staggering the starts by half an hour tends to bunch the finishes, which is convenient if you are travelling with people running different races. On the road, an April marathon means a winter build, so count backwards sixteen weeks and accept that the long runs land in the coldest part of the year. Runners not ready to commit to that can take the half off a 12-week plan, or use the 5K as a hard effort that leaves the rest of the training week intact.
