Marathon de Podvihorlatský

The Marathon de Podvihorlatský takes place around Zemplínska šírava, the lake nicknamed the “Slovak Sea”, near Michalovce, on 2 May 2027. Alongside the full marathon (Podvihorlatský maratón) over 42.2 km, runners can take on the Michalovský polmaratón, a half marathon over half the distance, or the half marathon relay (polmaratónska štafeta).

The fully tarmacked course is gently rolling and follows the shore of this vast body of water, with the wooded Vihorlat range on the horizon. It is a scenic format that combines an endurance challenge with the natural landscapes of eastern Slovakia.
