The Hixon 50 takes place in Hixon Forest in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and welcomes runners of every level. Distance options range from beginner-friendly 5K and 10K races up to tougher challenges, including a 16-mile run and a 32-mile ultra that pushes into true endurance territory.

The course covers rugged trails and hilly bluffs with sweeping views over the Mississippi River valley, and multiple aid stations are spread along the route to keep runners fueled and supported at every distance, from first-timers to seasoned ultrarunners.
