Hell Creek 100

Hell Creek 100 is held in Sylvan Grove, Kansas, on October 30–31, 2026. The longest event, the PURE HELL 140 (225 km, or 140 miles), starts on Friday, October 30. The 100-mile, the 100K (62 miles), and the 20-mile all run on Saturday, October 31. Start times were not published at the time of writing. All four are trail races, and the 140-mile distance is a rare format that goes well beyond the usual 100-mile ceiling.

Kansas is not famous for mountains, but the Smoky Hills region around Sylvan Grove offers rolling terrain and open exposure to wind, which can wear you down over a long day and night. Time on feet, steady fueling, and layered clothing for late-October temperature swings matter more than climbing ability here. The 100K is a strong choice for a first race beyond 50 miles, and the 20-mile gives you a taste of the course without an overnight. If you are drawn to the 140, come with at least one 100-mile finish behind you.
