About

The Harpers Ferry Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Bolivar, West Virginia, in Jefferson County, in mid-May. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30. The event celebrates the history, culture and joy of running in the picturesque town of Harpers Ferry, and it is meant for runners of every level.

The setting is the draw: the town has rich history and beautiful scenery at the meeting of two rivers, and you can choose the distance that suits your goals. Historic towns often come with hilly streets and narrow roads, so check the course map, expect some climbing and give yourself time to explore on foot after the race.
