About

The HandCart Half Marathon in Bountiful takes place on July 24, 2027, with the half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) starting at 5:30 a.m., followed by the Frontier 5K at 6:30 a.m. and Pioneer Pete's 1K at 7:30 a.m. The early start is meant to provide the best possible racing conditions.

This course breaks the mold: rather than a canyon downhill, expect a mostly flat half marathon with a few strategic gentle climbs. Total elevation gain is 187 feet (57 m), with 161 feet (49 m) of descent, making it a true test of endurance. The first 5 miles (8 km) follow the Legacy Trail before the route heads through the city streets of Farmington, Centerville and Bountiful.
