The Grit Your Grief 5k Run/Walk is a 5K (3.1 miles) run or walk held at MBS International Airport in Freeland, Michigan, on May 15, 2027, starting at 10:00 a.m. The course is one of a kind, taking in sections of taxiway and parts of the runway for a rare chance to race at an airport.

For extra fun, a family Color Fun Run of 1 mile (1.6 km) also takes place on the airport grounds at 11:30 a.m. Participants can race in person or opt for a virtual run on a course of their choice. Registration is required. All proceeds go to children and families in need, and memorial plaques honoring loved ones can be displayed during the event.
