About

The Fast & Furriest 5K Run/Walk - Midland is an annual 5K (3.1-mile) run/walk organized by the Great Lakes Bay Animal Society at Midland City Forest, starting at 9 a.m. on May 1, 2027, with separate divisions for participants with and without dogs.

Both divisions are chip-timed, with medals awarded in men's and women's categories. The course has aid and water stations and is stroller-friendly, making it ideal for families, and children 6 and under take part for free. The event supports the society's mission of caring for animals on their way to a new home. Participants receive T-shirts and other items, and proceeds go to the society's programs.
