Grand Slamrock

Grand Slamrock is run in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on March 13, 2027, and packs three distances into forty-five minutes. The Leprechaun Chase half mile goes first at 8:00 AM, the Strike It Lucky 1 Mile (1.6 km) follows at 8:20 AM, and the Grand Slamrock 5K closes the program at 8:45 AM. The event is organized by Arsenal Events.

Running more than one of these is entirely realistic, and the schedule clearly invites it: the half mile and the mile are short enough to serve as a warm-up for the 5K provided you keep them controlled. If a fast mile is what you want, treat it as the main event, jog the half mile easy and skip the 5K or run it as a cool-down. For families, the two short races give younger kids a real finish line without the commitment of 3.1 miles.
