Gillham Road GobbleTrot 5K

Gillham Road GobbleTrot 5K is a Thanksgiving Day run/walk in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri, on November 26, 2026. The 5K (3.1 miles) starts at 9:00 a.m. on a USATF-certified course that winds through the neighborhood's streets, with chip timing for everyone in the main event. Age-group medals go to the top three in each category, along with special recognition for the male and female masters winners. A separate Children's Dash for kids 8 and under follows at 10:15 a.m., and both in-person and virtual options are available. Registered runners receive a race shirt while supplies last, and proceeds support the Pilgrim Center's community programs.

A certified course and chip timing make this a legitimate place to chase a 5K personal best on Thanksgiving. Runners targeting a fast time will benefit from six to eight weeks that include one weekly speed session, a few strides after easy runs and a short taper. Walkers and beginners are equally welcome, and the 9:00 a.m. start leaves time for a proper warm-up on a cool late-November morning. With the kids' dash scheduled after the 5K, families can run first and then cheer the little ones on.
