About

Ghost 5k & Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run is held in Ashburn, Virginia on October 24, 2026. The timed 5K (3.1 miles) starts at 4:00 p.m., alongside the Scarecrow Sprint fun run named in the event title.

A late-afternoon Halloween race has a different rhythm from the usual 8:00 a.m. start: you have the whole day to eat and hydrate, but you also have the whole day to get restless. Keep the morning quiet, take your last full meal about four hours out, and warm up for a good 15 minutes since your legs will have been idle. Pairing a timed 5K with a fun run makes it easy to bring kids, and 3.1 miles is short enough that costumes stay tolerable.
