Frosty Rock Challenge

Frosty Rock Challenge is held in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, on November 7, 2026. The one-mile walk and run goes first at 8:30 a.m., the 12K (7.5 miles) follows at 9 a.m. and the 5K (3.1 miles) at 9:15 a.m. All courses start and finish at Fort Atkinson High School and run through local parks and neighborhoods. The mile is untimed, while the 5K and 12K award both overall and age-group prizes.

The 12K is the interesting choice here, sitting between a 10K and a 15K and long enough to punish an over-eager first mile. Build to it with a weekly long run of 8 miles and one tempo session; the 5K needs far less and works as a hard, single-morning effort. Families can use the mile as the low-pressure entry point.
