The Syttende Mai Classic Run/Walk takes place in Stoughton, Wisconsin, in mid-May, with a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 7:30 a.m., a 5K at 7:40 and an untimed two-mile 'Lil Run at 7:45. All races start and finish at the Anderson Complex. The half marathon and the 5K are timed, while the half marathon walk and the two-mile run are not.

The number of participants is limited, so the field stays manageable. Registrations made before the first of May include a race shirt, and medals go to half marathon and 5K finishers. Southern Wisconsin in mid-May can be cool in the early morning and mild by the finish, so wear layers you can shed and plan a steady pace for the half marathon.
