Freaky Friday 8K Run

Freaky Friday 8K Run takes place in Northport, Alabama, near Tuscaloosa, on October 30, 2026, with the 8K starting at 8 p.m. The course covers roughly 5 miles and leans into the Halloween season: runners are encouraged to wear costumes, and a costume contest is held before the start. Afterward, the awards ceremony moves to Dreamland Barbecue, where food, drinks and local craft beer are served to registered runners.

Eight kilometers is an awkward and useful distance, longer than a 5K but short of a 10K, so it rewards runners who can hold a controlled hard effort for around half an hour.
