Eilat Desert Marathon

The Eilat Desert Marathon, held in Eilat on 27 November 2026 with a full marathon, a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K, is Israel's most spectacular off-road race, taking runners from the rugged mountains of the Negev Desert to the shores of the Red Sea. Spread over three lively days in the southern resort town, the event combines sporting challenge with celebration and wraps up with a lively post-race party.

The course is unique: it starts deep in the desert and finishes at sea level, with constantly changing terrain and views across every shade of sand, stone and sunlight. Organised by Marathon Israel and AIMS-certified, the marathon is part of a wider movement to build an inclusive, internationally recognised running culture in Israel. Runners of all levels are welcome, with special support for athletes with disabilities. Start times are 6.20am for the full marathon, 6.50am for the half marathon, 7.05am for the 10K and 7.20am for the 5K.
