Devil Dog Ultras

Devil Dog Ultras takes place in Triangle, Virginia, on December 5, 2026. Three trail ultras are on the program: the 100-mile and the 100K (62 miles) at 6:00 AM, and the 50K (31 miles) at 7:30 AM. The whole event is built for distance — there is no short option — so everyone on the course is committed to a long day or a long night in northern Virginia woods.

A December 100-miler means the majority of your race happens in the dark and in the cold, which changes the preparation more than the mileage does. Rehearse night running, pack a full change of clothes, and treat warm calories as a priority rather than an afterthought. The 50K is the entry point here, and a strong one: it starts in daylight, and a 12-week build with long runs on rolling trail is enough to see you through.
