Amway River Bank Run

The Amway River Bank Run, held every year in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a major endurance event, and the 2027 edition takes place on May 8. It hosts the U.S. open 25K championships, handcycle and wheelchair races, and a range of running and walking events: the 25K (15.5 miles), 10K, 5K run and 5K community walk, plus combination challenges of 15K (9.3 miles), 30K (18.6 miles), 35K (21.7 miles) and the 40K (24.9 miles) Triple Crown Challenge, which links the 5K, 10K and 25K. Starts run from 7:00 a.m., with the 25K at 8:30 a.m.

Participants can also take part in virtual races, which offer real flexibility since the distance can be covered anywhere during the month of May. Originally known as the Old Kent River Bank Run, the event was renamed after a change of sponsor and is now organized by Riverbank Events and Media. With its long history, the race remains a key date for athletes every May.
