About

The 9/11 25th Anniversary Memorial 5K Run/Walk takes place in Bluffton, in Beaufort County, on September 11, 2027, with a 5K (3.1 miles) and a 400-meter fun run for kids 8 and under, both at 9:00 a.m. It honors firefighters and remembers those who lost their lives on September 11.

Organized by the Bluffton Firefighter Foundation and Palmetto Running Company, the event raises money for the Firefighter Emergency Fund, which helps local firefighters and their families. Participants can run or walk the course, sponsor a runner or come out to cheer. Every participant receives a commemorative T-shirt and a finisher medal, and trophies go to the top runners in several categories.
