Lights & Laces 5K

Lights & Laces 5K is held on December 12, 2026 in Lake Wales, Florida. The 5K run/walk (3.1 miles) starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by a free 100-meter kids fun run at 9:40 a.m. Splitting the two starts by an hour means parents can race first and then watch their children take the same finish line.

On the road, the 5K rewards a simple approach: settle into a rhythm you could hold for twenty minutes, then spend whatever is left over the final half mile. If you are building toward it, three or four runs a week for a month, one of them with faster intervals, covers the preparation. Walkers are welcome, so it also works as a low-pressure entry point for a first bib.
