CCA Fall 5k Race

CCA Fall 5k Race is held in Avon Park, Florida, on December 5, 2026. The program is a single event, a 5K (3.1 miles) starting at 7:30 a.m. The early start makes the most of the cooler morning hours, which in central Florida can make a real difference to how the race feels. Elevation gain is not listed for the course.

A 5K in early December is a good fit for almost any runner. If you are new to racing, it is short enough to finish comfortably with a few weeks of consistent running, two or three easy sessions a week and one slightly longer outing. If you race regularly, the distance is a chance to sharpen your speed before winter: a couple of interval sessions in the weeks beforehand, plus a proper warm-up of 10 to 15 minutes with a few strides, will set you up to push from the first mile. Either way, the 7:30 a.m. gun means an early breakfast and a short drive in the dark, so lay out your gear the night before.
