About

Yakima Skyline Rim 50k & 25k takes place in Ellensburg, Washington, on Saturday, April 17, 2027. The event pairs a 50K and a 25K, and the 50K, at 31 miles, is the listed start, going off at 8:00 a.m. Both are trail races run on the Yakima skyline rim the event is named for.

Rim running of this kind means long sustained climbs and equally long descents, with little shelter along the way. Quads take the beating here, so downhill-specific training in the weeks before matters as much as building your weekly mileage. The 25K is a serious undertaking on its own for anyone stepping up from road racing, while the 50K suits experienced trail runners comfortable spending six hours or more on their feet with limited support.
