Wyoming Marathon Races

The Wyoming Marathon Races take place in Laramie, Wyoming, in late May, in Medicine Bow National Forest, and the event is described as one of the oldest running races in the state. Choose between the Rocky Mountain 50K (31.1 miles), the Wyoming Marathon (26.2 miles), the Medicine Bow Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and the Vedauwoo 5K walk/run (3.1 miles).

The out-and-back course is hilly and mostly on dirt and gravel roads: all of the half marathon and about 77 percent of the marathon and 50K. Weather can change, and the terrain asks for steady effort at high elevation. The course stays open until 4 p.m., which leaves plenty of time to finish. It suits runners who prefer a scenic, demanding day.
