About

The WMass Mother's Day Half Marathon takes place in Whately, Massachusetts, in early May. Two options are offered: a half marathon (13.1 miles), which starts at 8:00 a.m., and a 9-mile run or walk, which starts half an hour earlier, at 7:30. Every participant receives a shirt and a medal and is welcome to join the celebration at the finish.

The event supports Cancer Connection, a local organization. Whately lies in the Connecticut River Valley of western Massachusetts, where May mornings can be cool. The unusual 9-mile option gives walkers and newer runners a longer-than-10K goal without the full half marathon commitment.
