About

The Wizz Air Semi-Marathon de Budapest, the Budapest half marathon presented by Wizz Air, takes place in the Hungarian capital on 5 September 2027. Two distances are on offer: a 10 km road race and the half marathon (21.1 km), which can be run solo or as a relay team of two or three runners.

Nicknamed the ‘Pearl of the Danube’, Budapest was formed in 1873 by the merger of Buda, Pest and Óbuda. The city is known for its historic baths, its views over the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and its metro, the second oldest in the world after London's and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Duna-Ipoly National Park and Lake Balaton are both within easy reach of the capital.
