About

Tour de Trail: Cedar Niles takes place in Olathe, Kansas, on October 17, 2026. A single format is offered: a 10K trail race at Cedar Niles Park in the Kansas City metro area, run on a Saturday in the middle of October.

A trail 10K is one of the friendliest formats in the sport. It is short enough that you can race it hard without a specialized training block, but long enough to teach you what running on uneven ground actually demands of your ankles and your attention. Road runners should expect to be a minute or more per mile slower than their pavement pace and treat that as normal. Four to six weeks of regular running with one weekly session on dirt is preparation enough, and the day is over before lunch.
