The Riley Trails Marathon

The Riley Trails Marathon takes place on August 14, 2027, in Holland, Allegan County, Michigan, as a charity event. Four formats are offered: a 10 km (6.2 mi), a half marathon (21 km), a marathon (42 km) and a four-person marathon relay, on the trails of a local park. Start times and elevation gain are not listed in our records.

A trail marathon run as laps of a park is the most forgiving version of the distance: you pass your own supplies repeatedly, you know the ground by the second lap, and stopping is never more than a few kilometres away. The four-person relay makes the same course a team outing — roughly 10 km each, which almost any regular runner can cover without a specific build-up.
