About

The Mad Mallard 3, 6, 12 & 24 HR NIGHT TIME trail race is a nighttime endurance trail race at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, where runners choose between 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours of racing. All four events start at 7:00 p.m. on July 9, 2027.

The race is run on a 3-mile (about 5 km) loop over varied terrain, marked with glow sticks and reflective markers. A main aid station supports runners throughout. The atmosphere is relaxed, and families and friends are welcome. Participants receive medals and swag, with special awards for the top runners.

The event is organized by the Sgt David Hierholzer Fallen Warrior Foundation, and proceeds go to local children in the form of school supplies and clothing.
