About

The Heartland Hustle 5K/10K/Half Marathon takes place in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, in the second half of March, on the trails around Lake Freeman. Central Kentucky Athletics organizes the event, with the half marathon (13.1 miles) at 8:00 a.m., the 10K (6.2 miles) at 8:10 a.m. and the 5K (3.1 miles) at 8:20 a.m.

The Hustle is open to all ages and abilities, and welcomes runners, walkers, strollers and leashed pets. Participants receive a custom hat, a branded drawstring backpack, a finisher medal and live timing. All profits go to local youth sports programs and support athletics for young people in central Kentucky. Because the courses are on trails, March mud is a possibility, and shoes with grip will be more comfortable than road flats.
