About
TCTC Jingle Bell Run is an untimed evening event in Traverse City, Michigan, on December 20, 2026, with the 5K run/walk (3.1 miles) starting at 5:30 p.m. Runners and walkers of all ages turn out in holiday costumes and make their way through neighborhood streets decorated for the season. It is a family occasion that ends with free cookies, hot chocolate and time to stand around and talk, and it is free for current Traverse City Track Club members.
No clock means no pressure, which makes this a good first event for someone who has been putting off signing up for a race. Bring lights or something reflective for a start this late, dress in layers you can shed after the first half mile, and plan on stopping at the finish rather than heading straight home; the cookies and the company are half the point.
