Tatras to Danube

Tatras to Danube (Od Tatier k Dunaju in Slovak) is the country's largest relay race, starting in Demänovská Dolina on 14 August 2027. It is open to teams of 6 to 12 athletes, usually 9 or 12, who cover a route of around 345 km split into 36 unique stages.

The course sets off from Jasná, in the Low Tatras, in the Demänovská valley, and finishes on the banks of the Danube in Bratislava. Teams run non-stop, day and night, over varied terrain, alternating mountain climbs with night-time stretches through sleeping villages. The race tests individual endurance as much as team spirit, with each runner backed by support vehicles that follow the team along the entire route.
