The Sundown Rundown - Fifth Street Cross Edition is an elimination-style ultramarathon held on a private backyard course in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. Runners take on a series of tough, intense 1.6-mile (2.6 km) laps, each with a progressively shorter time limit. To stay in the race, you have to complete every lap and get back to the start line before time runs out, while the required pace keeps climbing.

The course changes direction on every lap, which keeps your legs guessing and changes the terrain. Between laps, runners catch their breath, refuel and chat with fellow competitors while getting ready for the next one. It is not just about speed: strategy, camaraderie and the will to keep going when every second counts all play a part.
