Statesman Cap10K

Statesman Cap10K is held on April 11, 2027 in Austin, Texas, over a single distance: 10K (6.2 miles). The downtown course starts near the Texas State Capitol and crosses the Colorado River, with views over Lady Bird Lake and the city skyline, and the run finishes into a festival with local food, drinks and music. Live bands and crowds line the route, and the race has been part of the Austin calendar since 1978.

It is the largest 10K in Texas and one of the best-known short-course road races in the country, which means two very different fields sharing a start: elite runners at the front, families and costumed participants further back. Seed yourself honestly. If you want a genuine 10K time here, a build of eight to ten weeks with a weekly tempo run and a long run of eight to ten miles will get you there.
